How do I schedule an appointment?
For an initial consultation appointment, contact us at 202-734-3703 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a time to meet with one of our therapists. For follow up therapy appointments, you and your therapist will schedule those during your therapy sessions.
As of 9/1/2022, we are not currently accepting new clients. If you would like to be added to our waitlist please contact us at email@example.com.
What will my first session be like?
During your initial consultation appointment, you and the therapist will talk about the reason(s) you are seeking therapy, your general background, and the next steps. Be as open with the therapist as possible, ask questions you may have, and share any of your concerns.
What kinds of questions will be asked?
To help your therapist understand your needs better, consider answers to these questions:
What you hope to accomplish through therapy?
What led you to your decision to seek therapy?
What have you tried in the past to help you address the problem you are struggling with?
What information will I need to bring with me?
Please bring your insurance ID card (or information) a list of medication you are taking and any documents you may have that you think may be helpful.
How long will my session be?
Your initial consultation appointment will be 60 minutes and any follow up sessions will be 50 minutes.
How often will I need to see my therapist?
Based on why you are seeking therapy, you and your therapist will determine how frequently and how long to participate in therapy services.
Do you accept my insurance and if not can I still come to Counseling at Dupont?
Currently, we accept Carefirst BlueCross/BlueShield and Magellan insurance plans. We will verify your insurance coverage once you schedule an initial appointment and provide you with information regarding any co-pays or deductible you might have. If you we do not accept your insurance or if you don’t have insurance, you can still see one of our therapists and pay the appointment fee ($125) during your session.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
We understand that schedules change and you may need to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Please notify your therapist by phone, at least 24 hours in advance for any cancellations. If you do not cancel or do not show for your appointment, you will be charged the full fee of the session.
